Myoko’s hire market is smaller than Hakuba — village English shops in Akakura, Escape under Two Pines in Suginosawa, and slope-side desks at Madarao. Book ahead for peak weeks; day-before fitting beats a powder-morning queue.

Questions people actually ask
- Do I need to book Myoko ski hire in advance?
- Yes for Christmas–New Year, Chinese New Year, and most of January–February — especially premium/demo, powder boards, large boots, and kids sizes. Quieter weeks can walk in, but online booking still locks sizes.
- Where is Escape Myoko rental?
- Under Two Pines pizza in Suginosawa, near Suginohara. Published winter hours 08:00–09:30 and 16:00–19:30 (19 Dec 2026 – 7 Mar 2027). Evening-before fitting for pre-booked gear.
- Should I rent in Akakura or at Madarao?
- Rent near where you sleep and ski most days. Akakura shops (Myoko Snowsports, Aoyama) cover Onsen and Kanko. Madarao days are easier from Chill or Shirakaba on the mountain. Escape suits Suginohara / Suginosawa bases.
- Are there hire shops in Ikenotaira or Seki?
- Resort base desks are often mentioned in older guides, but we only list shops with stable public pages here. Confirm on-site at Ike or Seki if you need a walk-up set — or hire in Akakura and drive.
