How Myoko Kogen fits together
Myoko Kogen is not one village. It is a string of hot-spring areas at the foot of Mt Myoko, most with a ski area close by, plus Madarao across the line in Nagano. Akakura Onsen is the largest of the villages, and its slopes connect with Akakura Kanko. Right now 11 of 39 restaurants, 6 of 11 onsens and 5 of 5 rental shops have a checked pin; everything is listed below by area so nothing is missing from the page.
Akakura Onsen 赤倉温泉
It is in Akakura Onsen, which sits at about 800 m and is the largest hot-spring village in Myoko Kogen, opened in 1816. The village sits at the foot of the Akakura Onsen ski area, which links with the Akakura Kanko slopes next door.
